Modern Memoir:
Nancy Jackson

Our friend, Jane Whitlock introduced us to Nancy through her daughters, Carol and Julie. Nancy was nearing the end of her fight with ovarian cancer and her daughters wanted to capture her stories while they still could. As you'll hear, their mother gave them a greater gift than they could imagine. Eight days after our interview, Nancy was gone. Music on this video is "Hold Me Before I'm Gone Forever" by Reina del Cid. A beautiful song about Reina's mother, used with the artist's permission..

Memorial:
William Leadens

It was an honor and privilege to help celebrate the life of "Uncle Bill." His daughters, Lori and Lisa, and his wife, Marilyn, wanted their loved one to be remembered for his devotion to family, his love of horses and his dedication to serving others. This three-minute video is a sampler of the day when his service was held in a horse arena and we were able to talk to his friends, family and fellow equestrians. It was a beautiful day.

Memorial:
Bob Maher

To create this video, I sat down with Melinda Maher and her three children shortly after Bob's passing. It was an emotional conversation, but also rather cathartic for the family. They had pictures and video they wanted to share with Bob's friends and family at his service. They also had many touching and funny stories about Bob's life. This is a short edit from Bob's video.

Milestone: Brown & Greene Floral 15th Anniversary

Lyn was celebrating the 15th anniversary of her flower shop in Minneapolis. She invited us to capture the event. We also interviewed some of her clients and friends. Like so many of us, when we throw big parties, we only get to experience a small portion of what went on. This video allowed her to save, and savor, the memories from that day.

Modern Memoirs: Andrea F.

"Sooner or later, we all have to face our mortality," begins Andrea. For her, it came young--when she was diagnosed with cancer in college. And then again, in her 40's, when she learned the cure for her cancer had caused her heart disease.  That is why Andrea, a very positive and forward-thinking person, decided to record a video: So she wouldn't miss the chance to tell "my friends and family...how much I loved them."

Modern Memoirs: Anne M.

Anne is a loving mother and grandmother with wonderful life experiences and 78 years of beautiful memories...but some of those memories are slipping away. That's why her daughter, Andrea, invited us to sit down with her and her mom to capture the stories, preserve her memories and hold tight to her voice, her laugh and the things that make Anne the woman she is.

Milestone:
Vision Loss Resources Centennial

"VLR" is an organization in Minneapolis that provides services and support for those with visual disabilities. As they celebrated their 100th year in the community, we were invited to interview some of their clients about how they live with their vision loss and how VLR has been essential to their successful lives.

Milestone: Minnesota Twin Brad Radke's retirement

As a big baseball fan, it was a thrill to be invited by Heather Radke to create an hour-long tribute to her husband, Brad, as he wrapped up his career in Major League Baseball. We got to interview most of the current Twins (as of 2006) as well as family and friends. This is the first two minutes of the full-length video that was played at the big party in Tampa, Florida. (Special thanks to Fox Sports North for their great footage.)

Memorial:
Rob White

Rob's wife, Jane Whitlock, was the inspiration for Hold Tight Video. When her husband died, she wanted my help assembling a traditional slideshow for his memorial. As we sorted through photos, she began to tell stories about her husband and all he meant to her and their kids. "Can I record this?" I asked. Despite her grief, Jane was able to tell many warm, tender and sweet stories about Rob. Here is a small sample of how we combined her words with her many family photos.

Milestone:
Camp Fire Minnesota Centennial

Originally called Camp Fire Girls, the organization's goal is to expose more city kids to the beauty and joy of the natural world. When they celebrated their 100th year, we were invited to capture the event and interview campers, their families and a surprise guest, Minnesota's US Senator Amy Klobuchar, a Camp Fire kid herself in her youth. The video was created using interview footage and camp photos.

Beacon Interfaith Housing Collaborative

Beacon is an interfaith  collaborative of congregations committed to ending homelessness. We were invited by St. Louis Park City Council Member, Anne Mavity, to document one of their events, where they meet with other city officials to get buy-in to their projects. The events have been very successful and videos like this can encourage other congregations to join and support their important efforts.
