Every story is unique. Every video is one-of-a-kind. That's why we've listed a number of possible ways to begin creating your story.

A Hold Tight video is a memorable, evocative keepsake which you'll love to share and watch again and again. In fact, our friend, Jane, told us she watched the video we made about her late husband every day for six months after he passed. It was that important to her!

It's true. What we do is not for everyone. And honestly, because of the many long hours it can take to craft our videos, it's not in everyone's budget. But we try our best to make a superior product you'll love. We also offer affordable ways to get started on your story--like a "Last Letter" video...or interview sessions for a Modern Memoir that we can archive for you for later editing.

The "Last Letter" Video
Share your thanks, your love and your regrets  ($200 per hour, 2 hour minimum)

 The Last Letter Video was inspired by a Stanford geriatrics and palliative care doctor who had many conversations with patients who, nearing the end of their lives, expressed great regrets for words unspoken. You can read her story here in the New York Times. It's the most straightforward way to get your thoughts and feeling about your life and the ones you love "on tape", even while you're still healthy. That way, no matter what happens, the things that often go unspoken, WILL be heard. How it works: We come to you, set up a digital camera and microphone and lead you through your Last Letter on video. You'll have from one to two hours to talk about the highlights of your life, thank the people you love...even apologize to people and openly express your regrets. Is this something you could do with your own iPhone in the comfort of your home? Absolutely! But what we provide is a helpful interviewer who will guide you through the process--and give you a quality recording with crisp, professional sound. (If you need more time than two hours, we can continue recording for a reasonable fee.) We then archive the video, so it's always there for you. Basic Slide Show Video
A polished, but simple, photo-only slideshow (Starting at $500)

Sometimes time and budget require you stick with the old tried and true--a video slide show. Give us to 150 photos. If they're paper photos (you know, the old fashioned kind), we'll scan and digitize them, as well as provide simple image correction and resizing for best use in video. We'll also do the same with any digital images you have. If you have significant information about who's in the photo or when and where it was taken, we can include that information onscreen in titles throughout the video. We also can add an appropriate musical soundtrack selected from a "stock" library. (NOTE: Copyright law does not allow us to use popular song titles in these videos without permission. We HAVE gotten permission from some recording artists, but the more popular they are, the harder they are to reach and (potentially) the more money they want to use their song). 

The Voice Choice Video
Our audio-only interviews are set to your pictures and videos (Starting at $1800)

We'll work with a contact in your family to collect up to 150 photos and ten of your video clips. We'll then conduct audio interviews with 3-5 family members and/or friends, which we'll use as the narration to your video, along with your pictures and movies. With the addition of 3-5 musical tracks, it's sure to make your video a keepsake your family can cherish forever. You can see a sample of this style (the videos for Rob and Bob) here.

Sound and Vision Video
Slides, video and 2-3 on-camera interviews  (Starting at $3,000)

In addition to working with up to 300 photos and 20 of your video clips, we'll conduct 2-3 on-camera interviews (shot at one location) with family members or friends to include in the finished video. Their video interviews will provide the narration (and an on-camera presence) to tell the story, along with the many photos and video clips. Should you require more interviews or have significantly more photos or videos, you may want to consider Sound and Vision Plus (below).

Sound and Vision Plus Video
Slides, video and 4-6 on-camera interviews (Starting at $5,000)

With this option, you can include up to 500 photos, 30 video clips and on-camera interviews with 4-6 people at up to three locations. We can also provide, as part of the musical soundtrack, a song with lyrics that have been personalized for the occasion. If we all determine the project needs more locations, more interviews and more professional polish for your person or event, you may want to consider the Story of Your Life option (described below).

Story of Your life

The video we created for the Major League pitcher, Brad Radke, is our shining achievement so far. It required many interviews at multiple locations, trips to Florida and hours of collaboration and editing with many people. Not every "life story" video has to be that complicated (or expensive). Just know that if have a "biopic" in mind--with many photos, videos and interviews, we'd have to sit down and talk about what's involved before we can make an estimate of the costs. "Modern Memoirs" Interview Session Only
Interviews recorded for later use ($200 per hour, 2 hour minimum)

Not ready to create a full video, but want to capture the words and stories of someone important to you? Or maybe you have a loved one whose memory is fading and you want to capture their story while you can. This is a good way to do that. We come to your location and interview our subject(s) about the topics of their choice--mostly likely themselves! We'll also try to capture some video of our subjects "in action"--doing things around their home or environment (to later use as "b-roll"). This footage is archived and transcribed and can be used to create a Modern Memoirs video at a later date. Modern Memoirs is a great way to be present at their own memorial service and provide comfort and solace to those who are left behind.  But the use is up to you. (To edit the raw footage into a video for later presentation would require additional costs.)
